The economic vitality of a city, the ability to attract new workers, and the ability to transport people with new commuting patterns that support the health and sustainability of a growing region, all hinge on a well-functioning transit system that grows along with it.

The transit system in Metro Vancouver, a desirable and rapidly growing region, already faces pressure to match current demand – and with with the regions population expected to increase by over a million people, these demands will only continue to increase.

This spring, Metro Vancouver residents will be asked to support a 0.5% congestion improvement tax that will help fund major investments in the regions public transit system, as well as additional investments in the overall transportation network.

On April 1st, ULI British Columbia invites you to join a discussion on importance of new transportation investments and their role in supporting sustainable land-use practices in the City of Vancouver and the region.
